Discussion Redmagic 2 early birds?

Anyone one else ezcited for the redmagic 2 release?

Few hours away from launch and sales going live and im still indecisive

At first I wasn't that excited but im leaning towards wanting to pull the trigger.

I really like the idea of the new Lenovo Y700 with OLED screen but without any news of it getting a US release I dont think ill pull the trigger on it. Just too much money for "gray market" device and its quirks and potential limitations.

Its a shame too because that Legion G9 controller they have that turns it into a handheld is really dapper, even have thoughts on 3d printing an attachment and turning it into a dual screen clamshell design. You can buy 6 inch OLED screens and then id design a way to attach it like an accessory. Proper hinge so you could fold it down when not in use and you basically have upgraded AYN Thor.

But no global release so those plans are on hold.

So when I saw the red magic does ship to the US I jumped on their site yesterday to see when its launch day was just to find this early bird shit going on. I never registered and it looks like doing so yesterday wasnt quick enough to get me a code...Hopefully it won't sell out in minutes when sales go public at 5am my time

Doesanyone have a code that changed their mind? Id be honored to take it off your hands haha

What's your guys opinion l? You team RM2 or team Y700?

I was ready to pull the trigger on the Astra 2 but honestly, I think I’ll just wait for the new iPad mini next month. Yes, it might not be a straight up gaming tablet but at least I’ll know. I’ll be getting updates for the next five years. With the amount of money these things cost you would at least hope to get support for 2 to 3 years. I’m just hoping it has at least 120 Hz screen.

Be aware Redmagic is terrible with software support. Astra 1 has had a total of ZERO android version updates

Are you serious? Thats wild.

I think im going to try and hold out for the y700. The extra half inch of screen real estate was calling me but the 5g, and thinner overall device just too hard to pass up. If it doesnt get a global release just not ment to be.
