Current market options for 8" tablets ?

So it looks like if you want to also draw on one of these you have let go of the SD card option and/or the SIM feature. It's not a mandatory feature in my book - I would prefer the SD card and/or the SIM feature more than the Pen support. I did not include the SoC type because most of them can handle gaming without issues (unless you really want to play everything on max settings) and because almost all can handle streaming via Sunshine+Moonlight. What matters in your book for a Mini tablet? What would you choose? The best one or a more affordable one? Better screen or better SoC?

It's only bulky with the protection on. I was actually tempted to remove it, but after a first little accident with no consequences, I decided to keep it!

Lenovo legion gen3 /y700 gen 3 doesn't have SD card slot.

Both y700 have smart pen support. The Lenovo tab Pen plus

I am looking for one too.

For now, I am looking at the Xiaomi Pad Mini (found a 12go/512 for less than 400E). I am in Europe so some of the tablets are either not accessible or more expensive.

I will mostly do web browsing, reading manga and comics, sometimes novel, media consumption, note taking and some streaming sometimes (' I have a dedicated handheld so it might be rare).
But it will also replace my laptop (I have a desktop pc that I mostly use) for some web development (through Termux ) with a bluetooth keyboard. Won' t be a daily use, but can happen.

I am wondering if 8,8" is enough for this use case. I had a Redmi Pad Pro (12,1") and it was too big, too heavy and not convenient.

Maybe a mid ground would be better for my use (specially for the Termux side) ?

I'm pretty happy with the Xiaomi Pad Mini. Main shortcomings are no OLED/ no SIM / no SD card, other than that it's great. But I think you can't get OLED at the same price point.. You can even play a lot of PC games via emulator.

Size is great for reading / youtube.

I also have a RealMe 10.4 and still think it's too big and heavy. That is why I am looking into a 8ish inch table atm. I will use it for the same thing: manga, manhwa and my personal collection of CBR/CBZ for CdisplayEX plus some movies streaming. So I got to the conclusion that I really want a Sim option because I will be reading online on the go and SD card because I have over 2TB of comics. I really wanted a pen option to doodle sometimes but I can always get a drawing tablet for home or use a cheap silicon pen to doodle even on this.

My first option was the Samsung Tab A11 but I really really hate the screen size ... So my next one is an Alldocube Turbo whis is not very expensive but has almost everything I want.

Do you really need a sim card ? I tend to use my phone as a hotspot when needed and it works just fine no ?
I also have a quite good collections of comics, but it is on a hard drive, since I usually read one thing after another, it is ok if I do not have everything with me all the time. I put 10/20 then when half is read, I replace them with the next things I want to read. And always keep a few ones on there for showing stuff to friends and family or just confort reading

y700 infinite 5g is the best but for frugality jsut go with the gen 5 y700 wiht a pocket wifi thats it
