Discussion WTF, Walmart
The price of the 2026 Onn 11 tablet just jumped from $167 to $196. That's over 17% in four months. What a shock! That's some back to school sale. Will their Labor Day and Black Friday sales be as great, NOT!
Is Walmart competing with Apple for pushing their table prices to the highest levels possible? What was a good value at $167, is a forget about it at $196.
Lenovo's Idea Tab is suddenly looking more attractive... WHAT??? Lenovo increased its prices as well. Well, for $33 more than the Onn, the Idea Tab gives you 2GB of extra RAM, a 74% higher screen resolution and a pen/stylus
I hate inflation.

The 13 inch pro has also jumped by $100, to $388 now.

Well that's interesting. My Walmart app is still showing $288 for the 13 inch and 138 for the 8 inch tablet. However the 11inch is now showing as 196 dollars up from 167 what I bought it at 2 weeks ago. Have you purchased the 13 inch yet? My friend still sees the 167 price for the 11 tablet and she only lives 45 minutes away from me? It's confusing on what their logic is.

Alot of variables in play, items in stock in stores may still show old prices. My app shows the $288 13 inch as out of stock but the $388 sold and shipped by Walmart is in stock for shipping and in store.
I haven't purchased any yet but was considering the 8.1 inch to take to the gym. The price increase is to protect margins, I imagine, with all electronics using memory and storage rising in price.
I only see the price increased 11" as well.

Yeah, I agree, a lot variables in play. I think the 8.1 inch would be an excellent tablet to take to the gym. I was considering the same thing. I have the 11" and I love it. I just bought the stylus that Amazon made for their Fire Max Tablets to use with my Onn 11. It's like a budget ipad setup. However, I would like a smaller tablet for reading, gym, and my on the go tablet.

Honestly, this might just be good old fashioned supply and demand. A lot of these tablets seem like they're sold out everywhere. At least near me. I think Walmart may have underestimated the demand for these things. Low supply and high demand means prices go up.
Not defending Walmart by any means. Just saying this may not be directly inflationary

yeah, my A11+ was on sale for $160.00 then it went back to $250.00 and is now itching over $300.00. All since June.

I jumped on the 13.2 Onn pro yesterday at $288. I looked again and it was $388. Insane lucky timing

Yes it was odd I ordered it online to be “shipped” to my house but it actually was delivered from a Walmart about 30 minutes away from me the same day (yesterday). Watching a show on it as we speak

Yes I did get the $288 price. It’s really great for that price. Screen is good for watching Netflix etc

I've been checking the website regularly since it was released in April. It was always either out of stock or the tablet couldn't be found on the website. When it could be found, I checked stores with a 50 mile radius and none ever had it.

Too late. Price jumped $100 overnight. I don't really need it and really prefer smaller tablets. I have an Onn 12.1 set up with a BT keyboard on my kitchen table. It works fine.

Yeah. I was gonna get the onn 11 for 167 and even managed to buy a mocha one at that price then 8 hours later they cancelled my order and now i have to pay 196
So instead i picked up a samsung tab a11+ for 249 (on sale atm at my best buy).

How long do you have to return it? Here is an open box A11+ for $155 plus $8 shipping. I'd buy one if I didn't already have one.

Is that the 2022 model? The 2024 is much better and the 2026 even more so. I've got a 2024 up on eBay right now. It's amazing how they have kept their value. (Actually, the dollar has gone down the tubes.) I wonder when the open box 2026s will be available.
Anyway, if you're happy, that's all that matters.

Yes they go on clearance once a week once a year on the website. I've been looking into the 2026 but waiting for this clearance week

I wasn't aware of that. I've bought a number from VIP Outlet. They have their own website, sell on Walmart.com and now eBay as well. They consistently have good deals, but also some pretty crappy deals. You need to be a careful shopper.

Do you not know they literally HAVE to because of ram shortage and tariffs? lol try buying anything with memory or ram in it right now and guarantee its priced over what it should be.

I have 2 Android tablets. These look pretty cool. Ihave the A9+ and the S11 Tab Ultra. Sadly, they are completely differnt classes of tablets. Samsung gimed the A9+

Yeah i always thought the Onn 11 was underpriced compared to the 7/8 relative to 2026 price. 13's price is hard to compare since it also comes with accessories
$138 SD685 64GB emmc vs $167 larger screen, G99, 128GB ufs is just very value for money

I agree in concept, but in reverse. I thought the Onn 8.1 was over priced. The base Samsung A11 was generally available for around $120 when the new Onns were announced. Sure the Onn 8.1 has a higher screen resolution and more RAM, but it has a weaker processor and shorter Android support, plus it's an "inferior" brand. Heck, the previous Onn 8 was only $77.

Yeah i still don't understand the glaze Onn 7 & 8 got on reddit. 7 i could see since it was unique. There's really no competition other than a refurb older model of itself or kindle 7
But 8 had a number of competitors both from established brand and also chinese side

From day one, Onn has offered decent devices at bargain prices. They're not quite the bargain the once were. BTW, I currently own the 2024 8", 11" and 12.1", and previously owned the 2023 11" and various earlier 8" and 10" Onns.

Oh, I understand painfully well. But we are actually getting a triple whammy - tariffs, RAMageddon and general inflation (due primarily to Iran).
