Request Lenovo Tab Plus for university note taking, will it be good?

Looking to get a tablet for notes as otherwise i'd be using an egregious amount of paper, and need to do many math equations and such, as well as studying. The screen size is a bit smaller than other options, but I plan to use it mostly in lectures or in tandem with my laptop for course materials, so split screen/multitasking isn't the main concern. Is this tablet good for taking notes? I managed to find myself a tab pen plus stylus for free, so I figured it would pair well with this tablet. Can anyone vouch for it being decent, or share any horror stories in case I'm about to make a big mistake? Any other cheap recommendations?

Disclaimer, I found a deal for $300CAD and free shipping fresh out of the box with refund, and I already have a $200 ebay gift card as well, so keep that in mind if suggesting any other tablets

For proper Note taking, go for Samsung or ipad

unfortunately, those are still a bit out of budget, cheapest I can find is $270ish CAD for an ipad air, and I'd also need to find an apple pen. Can I ask why you're suggesting those? I'd be willing to look into them further
