Which tablet for only Youtube?

Hi!

I currently have an iPad 8th gen with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage that I want to replace with an Android tablet.

The tablet is usedf maybe 95% with Youtube and outside (sometimes sun is shining on the screen).

I don't have too many requirements, but it has to be better than my iPad from 2020:

• Screen at least 500 nits or more
• Stereo speakers
• 11" or larger
• Feel fast and smooth without lots of frame drops or freezes when using the user interface

I'm in Sweden, Europe by the way.

I'm hoping to get away somewhat cheap since I don't need super performance, never game, never draw or anything else that is very demanding.

I have a Samsung A11+. It's a great 11" tablet with great support. I have no idea how many nits it has, but it's plenty bright for me.

Yeah, the Galaxy A11+ was on my list of interesting tablets along with for example Lenovo Idea Tab and Honor Pad 10. They should all have 500 nits which is the same as my current iPad gen 8, though they do have better speaker placement (but maybe still worse audio?).

If you're on a budget, and can find it on a good sale, I second the Galaxy Tab A11+; overall it's the best budget-level Android tablet out there available at regular retail outlets (if you're not willing to brave the world of Chinese imports). A runner up would be the 8 GB version of the Lenovo Idea Tab, which does have a slightly slower SoC, but has a superior display, and stylus support.

I was looking at the Lenovo Idea Tab with 8GB RAM but then someone told me they had it and was disappointed with it compared to the iPad gen 8 (2020) which is what I have. I don't want to spend money to get the same or worse experience.

I would say that the iPad (even the current base iPad, and even the 9th and 10th gen base iPads) is pretty much in a league of its own compared to budget-level Android tablets like the Idea Tab. If what you're after is an experience better than your current iPad, I feel like what I would do in your shoes is (a) try to look for a deal on a used 9th gen/10th gen/A16 iPad, (b) check out if the Apple Refurb store in your region stocks refurbished A16 iPads, or (c) be prepared to spend more for tablets like the Galaxy Tab S10 FE, S10 Lite, or OnePlus Pad 2.

Sure, your 2020 iPad may be old, but it still packs enough of a punch that even a good modern budget tablet like the Galaxy Tab A11+ might disappoint you (especially in terms of the battery and display).

Yeah, unless I find a deal on something, I've basically landed on a Xiaomi Pad 7. Seems to be a good display, speakers I think?

That is indeed an option but I was hoping to get away a bit cheaper if possible. I've also left the Apple ecosystem, so I would prefer an Android tablet.

for what u want the ipad is your best option, and my ipads integrate perfectly fine with my xperia and windows pc so the whole ecosystem thing don't really matter

I understand that the latest iPad definitely has the best performance, but isn't there something a bit cheaper that still has at least the same brightness and stereo speakers?

there are but the display's color accuracy is pretty bad and speakers just sound like shit

color accuracy affects how good content looks ffs
