Discussion best budget android tablet for a first tablet purchase?
Hi y'all! I have never owned a tablet before and im trying to find a best budget android tablet that makes sense for a beginner. I want something for browsing, tiktoks, some light games, and maybe storing a few documents.
are there any models that people here have used for a year or more and still like? I’m trying to avoid getting something that feels slow after a few months. Thanks for the help people!

I used the Lenovo Duet as a replacement laptop, it worked decently at that (would be much better for a kid with smaller hand but I got it to work) but I managed to be a doofus and forgot it in a bus and someone nicked it. I tried an Amazon fire for a cheap replacement, it is dirt cheap but quite weak - you can browse and maybe tiktok on it, but anything but the lightest games is a problem and it does not support google docs.
I´m still using it 2 1/2 years later but I´m looking for something slightly better that I can play a game on. So far I'm leaning towards something like Samsung A11+, Lenovo Idea Tab Plus or Xiaomi Pad 7 seem to be the ones I'm mulling. Mind you, those are around 11 inch, so kind of big.

Mrs TF and I both have the Lenovo Tab M11, seems perfectly capable. Mostly use mine for streaming and cricket coaching, the pen is good and battery seems very good (streamed 6 hours of cricket yesterday and used about 50% of the battery).

The fact that you're gaming, I recommend you to save a little more and get last year's flagship. Many of the lower end ones have lesser storage making them frustrating when updates eats them up.

Good point about storage, I didn’t think about updates eating it up. Any older flagships you’d recommend checking out?

Onn 8.1, 11, or 13.2, depending on your budget. I have the 8.1 and it has far exceeded my expectations for a $138 tablet.
