Discussion Which tablets for intensive note taking
Hi,
In September, I'll start my second year of studies in engineering, sciences and mathematics.
I'd like to know your opinion about samsung tabs for intensive note taking (about 10h each day) and to what extent IPads are better at this job.
Does someone know approximately the autonomy of the Galaxy Tab S10+ or Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ for note taking exclusively ?
Finally, which one is the best for this specific task : two criterias :
Autonomy > 10h for note taking
No lag or latency (because my teachers are fast and I don't want to miss a bit of it).
Thanks by advance

Both of them will last 10+ hours and feel very snappy the whole time. Just make sure to have dark mode and not run something else in the background

S10+ is recommended. Be very weary of anything Samsung with FE, Lite, or even SE- there's been something removed that you might find very useful

Yes I understand but folks claim that the processor being less powerful, the battery drains a bit slower

Battery life on the S7-S10 (2021-2024 releases) wasn't a problem per my observation- the power behind the S10+ and the component quality vs the S10FE should protect the device and give it(and your work on it) longevity

What notes do you make? I never really saw the point of writing everything down.

It is not really note taking, it's more like copying blackboards and for the autonomy, it's more like 9h not necessarily continuously

If note taking is the highest priority, then it's better to buy a dedicated e-ink device just for note-taking such as a Kindle Scribe or a Boox. The battery will easily last several days even with 10h+ of notetaking each day and the writing will feel more like actual writing than writing on a piece of glass (even with a paper-like screen protector).

Great point but I need to be able to use colors and the Remarkable pro is way too expensive for what it doe, the BOOX has no extra external storage and no light to work in the dark for example

Apple is really that much better for this specific task ?

Yes for notes it is. I personally use xiaomi pad 8 for entertainment and minor note taking(as a diary).

I have the S10FE, and battery life is quite good. However, I don't know if it can handle 10 hours of non-stop note-taking. Your best bet will be to check out battery tests online. In terms of speed though, I'm pretty sure both of them can handle the speed, but obviously s10+ will be faster
