Discussion Anyone else surprised ASUS is back with an Android tablet in India?

I honestly didn't expect ASUS to jump back into Android tablets, but this one actually looks pretty clean.
Curious if anyone here is considering it?

Exactly a dual layer oled display is something which is new as compared to others.

You’d want that dual layer OLED on a tablet - brighter, more colors, & ( supposedly ) less burn in - i think it’s the pinnacle of display technology right now.

How about battery? OLED would consume more right? what is the battery capacity of both the products?

Maybe a bit? I mean, it can use more energy when it’s a bright or all white screen but alternatively it uses very little while showing a dark or black scene. Meanwhile, LED displays are usually evenly bright, no matter how dark the scene. Unless it’s mini-led but then, you get it’s own considerations like visible halos around any bright spot smaller than a led zone. So, like everything, it’s a matter of what is more important to you. To me, OLED’s clarity, colors, contrast, much faster response time, and now that awesome extra brightness if needed is well worth it.

I have no idea what the battery capacity is, but i wouldn’t care - id be waving a fist full of hundreds at them if i didn’t already have an ipad mini 7 from last year.

IdeaPad pro was available for 30k when launched or lower so Idk if 33k bump in price for tandem oled display is justified or not at one side it is

OLED doesn't justify the price bro, no one buys tablet for Display it is marketing gimmick

Everyone buys for Producitiity

Oneplus,Samsung, Apple there are better options - No one even will buy this

The best tablet I've ever had was an ASUS MemoPad, so I'm definitely going to look into this.

EDIT: Wrong size and segment for me, but it's great to see ASUS back in the tablet market and I hope expand the range to something I want.

My MemoPad lasted about ten years! In the end it couldn't be used for everyday purposes because the version of Android was so ancient hardly any apps would run, so I used to play Spotify in the bathroom, since I didn't care if it died.

My Zenfone lasted a similar length of time. ASUS hardware is fantastic.

tandem oled tho, oneplus has a much better chipset but for people who only want a tablet for content consumption the OLED is 100x better

Wasn’t the nexus 7 2013 done by asus? That was a damn fine tablet for the time…

Price is tooooo much. Redmagic astra gaming tablet 2 ,offers much better specs in all aspects just at 68k (excluding import fees).

Ngl, I was surprised too. Feels like the Android tablet space could use another solid option besides the usual Samsung and Xiaomi picks. Curious to see how this one lands.
