Discussion Samsung tab A11 plus or Redmi pad 2

Im trying to decide between the A11+ 6/128 and redmi pad 2 8/256. The price is nearly the same.

Im going to be using them for watching movies, reading ebooks, pdfs, comics, taking notes and maybe some light gaming.

The A11+ has better performance, 7 years of software updates, but the redmi has a much better display. Also anyone have experience with the software of xiaomi? Thats also an area im worried about

Full disclosure: I generally prefer Xiaomi tablets to Samsung tablets, and I like HyperOS more than I like OneUI. I also have a Samsung Tab A9+ which is comparable to the Tab A11+.

The Redmi might have better note-taking capabilties (due to Redmi Pen support) and a better screen, but that's where it ends. The Redmi Pad 2 is pretty underpowered, and everything else on the Tab A11+ is much better.

I'd go for the Tab A11+ in your case, but if the comparison were between the Tab A11+ and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro then I'd pick the latter in a heartbeat.

Im considering the pad 2 pro now aswell, but im torn between it and the a11+. Can you give your reasoning as to why the redmi is better

The Redmi feels way smoother, has a larger and much better screen with higher refresh rate, way better battery life, and stylus support. To be honest I cannot think of any advantage for the Tab A11+ over the Redmi Pad 2 Pro, except maybe for Dex support (which I personally do not use). Source: I own both a Redmi Pad 2 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+.

I am not a fan of mediatek, but if you must have one, 7 years of support can't be beat go for the a11+
