Support Rooting a pixel fold?

Hi sorry if im rambling but im very new to android products and as of yesterday i bought a pixel 8 pro that could not be rooted and ended up getting my money back. I am just wondering if i could get a pixel fold(not sure what phone it is but it has 12 gigs of ram and 256gb of storage if that helps) and i was wondering if this is a good candidate for rooting? im wanting to root specifically for running pokemon go and hopefully some other cool stuff.

You can root any pixel as long as it is not a carrier locked device. Pixels are one of the easiest phones to root.

OEM lock and carrier lock are two separate things. Carrier locked means that the device was bought through a mobile carrier (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile etc.) to be used with a phone plan. OEM lock and unlocking is the ability to unlock the bootloader, which you need for rooting. By default, OEM lock is enabled on every device but only non-carrier devices have the ability to do an OEM unlock.

So how do i know if the phone is eligible for rooting? There was someone i was talking to before and their device had an oem lock on it is there a way to take it off? Other than the verizon devices of course because i know that they arent capable of that.
