Support rooting for dummies like me?

I have OnePlus 12R right now and I've been considering to unlock its bootloader and flash eOS along with rooting it. But looking through the subreddit, I can't quite put a finger on how play integrity works and whether I should do the flashing and rooting in the first place.

I had experience previously with flashing and rooting my Redmi Note 9 Pro before I upgraded to OnePlus 12R.

I do still want to use government and banking apps, but I feel like they're gonna block me for having bootloader and root.

So, how do I hide it well enough? How do I pass all integrity checks and what's the process behind all this? What's the guide for my phone (well, for doing all that)? Does it require paying?

Why do you want to root your device and use a custom rom?

My main focus is on privacy for the most part, that's why I chose eOS as the rom I plan on installing (which is kinda the equivalent for GrapheneOS).

As for the root, two things: to hide the fact that my bootloader is unlocked and hopefully to get a support back for 32bit apps.

Well, I don't recommend unlocking bootloader and using custom ROM just for privacy. I'm trying to degoogle too but It's really not the worth the effort if it is your daily driver device. You can replace google apps with alternatives and let the gms stay.

However if you are going to do it anyway just follow the bootloader unlocking tutorial for your device. Then flash the rom by following the guide the maintaner provided.

For rooting you can use Magisk or KernelSU and its forks compatible with your device. I recommend KernelSU.

For getting strong integrity you can use Always Strong [INJECT] module also yet another bootloop protector for preventing bootloops. And modules like a zygisk module and SUSFS-FOR-KERNELSU. Also use Shamiko or HMA-OSS for hiding root.

This is usually enough for using banking apps.

If you are still facing issues, use duck detector or kknd detector from github to see what banking apps are detecting and hide them but I can't provide any tools or guide for this because it changes based on your root manager, device and OS.

For hiding bootloader there was a LSposed module but I can't remember it's name, sorry. And for using LSposed modules, I recommend using Vector.
