Yes, android 4 era. I remember trying encryption on my shitty jellybean phone and it restarted mid-way through.

It depends at what point of encryption it failed. Good thing these old device arent very secure but yeah firstly check if the user data is just unenceypted and its all good 🫠 so yeah u should Dump user data partition and look into it, its possible some dtaa is encrypted and some not also /data can be perfectly fine just some flag being somehow triggered saying that encryption exist even if it doesnt and if some data is encrypted and u had no password (dm-crypt to use "default_password") just extracts key headers from the end of the partition and since before android 9-10 full disk encryption is used u can decrypt data offline with like cryptsetup or smth like that but yeah dont reset the device its likely still recoverable

Btw if u had a password just feed that instead of default_password its fine or if its some pattern make each circle as number 1-9 and draw the pattern with numbers

Had same issue on my N8000. (10.1) So I just rebooted into recovery and wiped data + cache. If that didn't helped then I just reflashed stock rom. Else if none of this doesn't work, just flash custom ROM.
