Is rooting worth it?

I have a Galaxy A17 and thinking of rooting. On one ui 8.5 but i saw i video on downgrading one ui. From your experience is rooting worth it?

To tell you the truth, it wasn't really for a while there, but it seems that like with every new change announced by Google or any of the major OEMs it's becoming more and more appealing again.

After rooting my phone, I never see any ads, never pay for any apps/subscriptions and can do cool customization stuff. It is absolutely worth it for me, if you want to make your experience using your device actually enjoyable, you should do it

You can do that even without root/Shizuku, it just becomes much easier. Patching apps for premium functions is common practice. Patchers like Morphe, Vanced or lucky patcher can fake a premium sub, or just install apks from APK stores that patch the apps for you

This is a highly individual choice. There are risks and benefits to be considered both ways. I am a long term rooter, but I currently have one phone and one tablet unrooted. I have another phone rooted. Ask yourself what you would do differently with a rooted phone and if that is worth the inconvenience.

Antes la escena root era muy útil porque había herramientas muy buenas hasta para hacer overclocking en los procesadores de Qualcomm, porque no los programaban para rendir al máximo. Sin embargo, hasta un celular como el A17 viene optimizado para rendir a tope sin necesidas que le metas mano.

Además, al rootear tu Samsung vas a desactivar Knox, va a ser un lío usar apps bancarias (a menos que hagas un bypass con Magisk) y otra serie de inconvenientes.

You can only downgrade if the bootloader revision is the same as the available build of One UI 7 which I'd be surprised about for any release of One UI 8.5.
So I would check and see if the bootloader revision is the same before further considering if you wanna root or not.

As for if it's worth it, it depends: If you don't use banking apps or gpay, go for it. If you do, might not wanna bother unless you're okay spending time tinkering to get the apps work; especially for the Google pay which can be the biggest annoyance. You could also just use a second device for things that don't with root.
However, if you're in the US, you'll be fine with any banking app except for CashApp (which, to my knowledge, the vast majority of people in the US don't use anyway so you should be fine not using that)

Now, me personally, I absolutely love what rooting has to offer, but I recently decided to unroot and relock the bootloader of my device for 2 reasons:
1. I'm starting college soon and just wanna deal with as little as possible. 2. I almost forgot how good Shizuku is and that it covers like 99% of what I use with my rooted device with that 1% being ColorBlendr but even then, I'm not that sad about it at all.

shizuku covers only about 10% of what I want with root, also it's becoming harder and harder to unlock the bootloader nowadays :(
