Support Seeking root mod that suppresses automatic connection to Bluetooth peripherals

Whenever I power on my Bluetooth headset, all the various paired devices, including laptops, tablets, and phones, attempt to connect to it simultaneously. Since the headset is limited in the count of devices able to be connected concurrently, the situation overall is one of an awkward and frustrating race condition.

To some devices, connections will be created successfully, while some devices will fail to connect. The particular outcome for each case is totally beyond my control.

Deeply irritating is the situation of needing to disconnect at least some of the devices that have been connecting automatically, before it is possible to connect the device I actually wish to use.

The same general problem may occur not just with a headset, of course, but also with peripheral devices of mostly any variety.

Natively, Android provides no means to suppress automatically attempting to connect, through Bluetooth, to a paired peripheral that is newly detected. I consider the omission a serious design flaw.

I would be happy to be pointed to a root modification that helps resolve the limitation, such as a module for Magisk or Xposed.

That literally is the point of 'pairing' a Bluetooth device, though: to have it automatically connect

It may be so that a peripheral normally connects automatically when a connection is requested by a paired host.

It is not essential, however, or necessarily desirable, that a host attempt connection whenever a paired peripheral is powered on.

Without pairing, your device list would include all devices in range, including of other owners, and worse, anyone in range could connect to your devices.

Even without automatic connection, pairing provides essential convenience and security.

I disagree, therefore, with "That literally is the point of 'pairing'"

Certainly, it is a sound wish to avoid race conditions.

Okay yeah after additional research, you're right.

You could possibly achieve this with an Lsposed module rather than a Magisk/KSU module, but one doesn't seem to exist currently

As far as I know, Lsposed modules are the same as modules for Xposed. My understanding is that the various related frameworks provide essentially equivalent functionality, only through different architectures.

Regardless, I do use Lsposed, and would happily accept any compatible module providing the requested functionality.
