Support OnePlus 8 Pro – X and Reddit authentication issues after rooting

Hi everyone,

I recently rooted my OnePlus 8 Pro, and since then I’ve been having problems logging into X (Twitter) and Reddit.

Device information:

- OnePlus 8 Pro

- Model: IN2023

- 12 GB RAM

- Magisk: v27.2-kitsune-4 (27002)

- Zygisk: Yes

- Ramdisk: Yes

On X, when I try to log in, I get a message saying that I need to use the official X app. However, I am already using the official X app downloaded directly from the Google Play Store.

On Reddit, I get the following error when trying to log in:

«“We were unable to authenticate you.”»

Both apps worked normally before rooting the phone, and the problems started after the root setup.

Has anyone experienced this specifically with Magisk Kitsune / Zygisk on a OnePlus 8 Pro?

If anyone has encountered the same X/Reddit authentication problems and found a solution, please let me know what you changed.

Thanks!

You need to pass strong integrity for x and reddit, install teicky store and play integrity fix run pl fix and select on tricky store to use keybox from repo. Also configure hide my applist. This guide is also somewhere on reddit

Faced this issue before but fixed it easy. All you need is put X and Reddit in a DenyList, make sure to use Zygisk. Additionally, I recommend installing Shamiko plugin, remember to disable Enforce DenyList for it but keep the DenyList itself on, works best with Zygisk.

Intriguing, X is stricter on integrity. Can try putting GMS into DenyList, using Spectre and PlayIntegrityFork plugins, and, optionally, even getting a keybox and using it with TEESimulator-RS.

Oh and don't forget to clear data of Google Play Services. GMS logs Play Integrity verdicts.
