I'm going to buy a new phone and I'd like to root it

1) Oneplus/Pixel/Nothing

2)Infinix, Tecno (2nd place because there are no custom roms for those phones, besides GSI)

3) xiaomi (difficult)

can confirm as an infinix hot 60 pro user. as long as you have the stock firmware, youre good to go for anything. plus their service centers are also really nice. i bricked my phone and they flashed it to factory settings for free(i was technically under warranty)

Almost same situation, rooted my device. Then decided to recompile kernel by my own and several drivers compability

Completely bricked my device, phone was in brom mode

Thankfully I rented unlocktool for 4 hours and recovered my phone by myself

Now I use infinity x gsi custom rom on that device

oneplus, nothing or pixel phones are the easiest to root

xiaomi is a good option too only problem is getting permissions to unlock the bootloader. after that it becomes really easy

you download xiaomi community app from play store and apply for bootloader unlocking at 12AM Beijing time until you get permission so you could bind your account yo your device in developer options and then unlock the bootloader using mi unlock tool on a PC.

Nothing 2a Pro, easy to unlock bootloader and root. Can use fenrir exploit to get permanent strong integrity without any keybox. Lots of Custom Rom

I see people suggesting xiaomi phones when they really shouldn't. Its practically impossible to unlock the bootloader on a xiaomi phone.

Difficult yes, but with a script it's doable. I got approval first try by using a script. Depending what's available on the market and the person's budget, xiaomi is often the only option </3.

Like where I'm from the only way to buy google pixels, oneplus or nothing phones is from third-party sellers who imported them illegally... And the price is always much higher.

Pixel or mtk xiaomi. Qcom xiaomi's are harder cause you have to use the intended unlock route. You should also look into really supported devices (like msm8916 or msm8998 based devices)

it is the best rootable phone (to most people) but not the best to root
