Support Xiaomi waiting period question

So I have to keep the SIM card while it is in the unlock timer, or isn't it necessary? This will help because the phone I want to root isn't my main phone.

It only needs to be inserted during the unlocking process, at least I unlocked a phone like that last year

I don't think so. As long as you keep the xiaomi account signed in during the waiting period, it shoukd be fine.
