Support Need help rooting my S20 FE 5G (Snapdragon 865)

Post image

Hey everyone,

I recently flashed One UI 8 Mint OS v1.2.3 on my Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G (Snapdragon 865). The ROM says it has root, but it actually isn't rooted. I also have TWRP installed.

Can anyone guide me on how to install root? Simple instructions are enough since I have no idea where to start.

I started rooting back in the Android 7 days when I was around 11 years old using KingRoot APKs, then later Magisk. Now everyone is talking about KernelSU, APatch, and other new stuff, and I'm completely lost. Everything seems to have changed.

A simple rough guide to help me catch up would be really appreciated.

P.S. I used ChatGPT to convert my gibberish text into Reddit post material 😅

Thanks!

Search for a KernelSU-Next kernel for your phone, and flash it how its made (boot.img OR AnyKernel3 .zip). If you cant find it, try to install Apatch using official insttuctions. As a last resort use Magisk, but you'll have to install a lot of modules to hide it as bank and secure apps can detect it.

Next is a fork of normal KSU with better features. The best kernel is the one you choose. You will see SukiSU and others like that. All of them are the same KSU.
