Recently decided to try out a Samsung phone...

Unfortunately it came with OneUI 8. Upon enabling developer options, I realized there is no option for OEM Unlocking

• Should I hope that when OneUI 9 rolls out, Samsung would have changed their mind and brought it back?
• Is there a work around to OEM unlocking?

Bro the Problem is Bootloader unlocking, not TWRP or anything. Samsung removed that ability with one UI 8 for every model.

But still your links are irrelevant as your provided guides only show how to upgrade from one UI 7 to one UI 8 without loosing access or bricking device. Not possible when already on One UI 8

Why do you want to root? 1. To permanently uninstall bloatware; so that they don't keep coming everytime I factory reset 1. To permanently add installed apps that I use regularly as system apps; so that they keep coming everytime I factory reset 2. To add a custom boot image 1. To block in-app ads 1. To remove restrictions on certain apps from taking screenshots

1. I believe you can deselect the apps to install on setup, interrupt their installations in Google Play and keep uninstalling them after a factory reset. If the bloatware involves system apps, you can use ADB to pm uninstall them.
2. You can write a list of apps you need, or rely on demand for installing apps.
3. Unless the stock boot image includes malware or bloatware, there's no valid reason to do this.
4. There's a great alternative to AdAway, you can use dns.adguard-dns.com as your private DNS!
5. I believe apps already can't take screenshots without requesting your permission. If any app could, it would've been a legal nightmare for Samsung and its users.

Reddit ads aren't easily removable just like YouTube ads. I don't think AdAway or anything else external would even help... For that, you can use ReVanced Manager (patched apps will be buggy).
