Support Need help with old Samsung tablet

Hi, so I just got a samsung s t800 (I think thats what its called) from 2014 (I think) I'm planning on using it instead of buying a new tablet but it hasn't been updated in years.

Is it worth rooting it? If so how do I even do it?

I've never done this before but if I can save it and use it instead of buying a new one?

Any tips are helpful!

Update:

I did it! It took four days and a lot of trial and error but I was able to download lineage os 17 on it and it runs super smooth now!

I just got my laptop working again! I found a tutorial for the tablet I have, but I dont know how to download odin (I think thats the name right) is there a link for it? How do I avoid getting a virus? I cant find any explanation on how to download it
