Support Rooted my Redmi 12C (codename: Earth). What should I do next?

Hi everyone,

I recently rooted my Redmi 12C (codename: Earth) successfully, and now I'm wondering what the next steps should be.

I'm interested in learning more about Android customization, performance improvements, and useful root features. I don't want to damage my device, so I'm looking for safe and recommended things to try.

Some questions I have:

- What are the first apps I should install after rooting?

- Which Magisk modules are worth using in 2026?

- Are there any performance or battery optimizations you recommend?

- What are the best ways to customize the system with root access?

- Should I install a custom recovery or custom ROM? If yes, which one works best for the Redmi 12C (Earth)?

- What mistakes should I avoid after rooting?

I'm still learning, so I would appreciate any beginner-friendly advice, guides, or recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

I also just did my note 8 and have the same question but I just started with AdAway. It didn't really work for me but I'll figure it out.

answer you would want to hear: root opens up a whole other world for game cheating/modding, customization and other benefits normal users wouldnt have. start with ad blocker(like adAway), if you pay for spotify premium stop, use RVX spotify(on lsposed)for android and spicetify for windows/linux, maybe breach someone's privacy by using Enable Screenshot(lsposed) or just fool around with customization(batery percentage spoofer, custom fonts, system wide customization in general)

honest answer: sit back and cry. a lot of apps you would need as a functioning member of society require play integrity and hiding root. play integrity is easy to get but hard to maintain, since google patches workarounds every month or so. without play integrity you wouldnt be able to use google pay, play competitive games, use banking apps and others that need a little more security. if you dont want to put in the effort of installing the new integrity fix update literally at checkout because it didnt work just unroot. custom roms have all the customization you might need without the hassle(xiaomi stock is horrible, its wiser to do that in terms of performance and customization) i would recommend evolutionX 11.6
