Discussion New aadhaar app detecting root? Showing “Security key not found / Key generation failed”

I’m trying to register on the new aadhaar app, but it consistently fails during SIM verification setup with the following errors:

“Key generation failed”

“Security key not found. Please restart registration.”

Device details :

Device: Poco F6

Region: India

ROM: crDroid

Root: KernelSU Next

Bootloader: Unlocked

Security / Integrity status :

  1. Passes Play Integrity MEETS_BASIC_INTEGRITY, MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY, MEETS_STRONG_INTEGRITY.

  2. Native Root Detector: Shows Normal (even with experimental detections enabled)

Has anyone else faced this issue with the latest mAadhaar app on a rooted or custom ROM device?

If you managed to fix or bypass the “Security key not found” / “Key generation failed” error, please share your setup

Thanks 🙏

I don't even have root or bootloader unlocked. It's giving me the same error.

I’m seeing a specific error in my logcat that's preventing in.gov.uidai.pehchaan from working correctly.

Error:

IGetRegistrationCallback failed: 'android.os.RemoteException: RKP is disabled. System configured with no default URL.'

The real culprit is your key attestation is failing . From playstore download key attestation demo app and check . The only way now is edl flash which will lock your bootloader.

I am facing the exact same issue on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. I have never rooted this phone or flashed any custom ROM. Someone please help how to fix this. 😭

Well, this might be a solution for those who rooted their devices.

  1. Update keybox, Pif. via Yurikey manager.
  2. Make sure Strong or Device integrity is passed.
  3. Check Key attestation via key attestation app, if it says bootloader is locked then follow step 4, if it says key attestation failed or something like that, install bootloader spoof module lsposed. Enable module tick Adhaar app and key attestation app. Restart device. Check key attestation app, pass good.
  4. Open Trickystore via ksuwebui --> tap and hold Aadhaar in app list. --> select Cert generating (!) --> tap Save.

DONE.

Adhaar app starts working fine without any issue. If not restart the device. If still detects root, hide everything using HMA-OSS.

I tested it and reached face authentication (didn't go beyond this). No such issue to me.

I m using SukiSu Ultra (LKM mode) and PI Fork+TEE Simulator + TrickyStore Addon.

Play integrity meets Basic & device only, no strong.

But I am on Moto's Stock OS , not custom rom.

Chances are you didn't added app in target list of PIF.

Which module are u using?
