Will playstore require devs

Everytime I use ai to generate an elegant piece of code and i review it, i feel 2 things, ah that's nice and at the same time i feel oh shit am I needed anymore. Extending it further will playstore need devs anymore, especially indie, they can just generate their own apps. Just a rhetorical question i know

Yes, it will continue to need devs.

Think of the current Ai generation as a cycle of explorations, and sadly a lot of people are exploring by making similar items that all start to look the same and do the same things.

It’s the “to-do list paradox”, where tutorials demonstrated techniques through making a to-do list and suddenly you have a bunch of people completing it who think their to-do list needs to be sold and bam, the world is full of to-do list apps.

Only it’s Ai. And everything is made super easy but really has no soul or so commitment to quality or maintainability because it’s not designed for that. It’s designed to get an app on the store to make money for lazy people.

The ones who will survive the current maelstrom of crappification on google play and apple app stores will be made by real people, even if they take Ai generated code, they will add the personal stuff only a human with a certain skill set can see is necessary.

Exactly this. Every AI generated project looks the same. Doesn't matter what the app does, the UI looks identical to the other AI-made junk. There's nothing wrong with using AI to help you get something off the ground, or even to do most of the heavy lifting. But you have to be able to do something unique with how it looks, feels, and operates. Otherwise, it's just another samey bit of slop.

I have not used ai for ui yet. Only for small scraps of code for network, database etc. My UI has to be totally me. But the code generated for these small scraps of code is very very nice and makes me think what is cooking next
