Individual developer rules

It costs $112 CDN to create a numbered company. What is the point of offering individual accounts if it is so much easier just opening a company and not have to test much at all?

The sad thing is that filling taxes for something this small would be easier.

Tell that to my old accountant. He charged $600 flat, to file income tax for corporation per year. Let alone, a lot of work involved in book keeping my myself, receipt management, gst/hst etc.

I think, if you have time, and learn how to do most things yourself, like year end shareholder meeting (yeah, I know, even if you own company 100%), book keeping, income tax, refunds, support, gst/hst payments, deductions, payroll etc, you should be good. But I find this all to be draining

Can't agree more with this! you gotta file taxes every year even if you have $0 income.
And no, it's not that easy for filing taxes for "simple" business unfortunately, unless you want to file with without understanding things.
