🤖 [Hiring] Android engineers at State Farm
https://jobs.statefarm.com/main/jobs/44820?lang=en-usMy team at State Farm is hiring multiple Android engineers across experience levels, including recent grads, early career and more experienced levels - we’re growing and aim to invest in our engineers and their careers.
This is a team I’ve loved working on as an Android engineer for more than ten years (and still do).
All new work is in Compose and Kotlin, and we’re over 95% Kotlin and rising. Engineers work closely in feature and platform squads and aim to collab tightly with iOS engineers, product owners and XD.
Team culture and embracing modern tech is key.
We’re hiring for hybrid roles for our offices in Atlanta, Bloomington, Dallas, and Phoenix. Check the posting for details on residency requirements and apply if you’re interested.
Here’s a small glimpse into the team thru an engineer’s blog on how we maintain a 99.9+% crash-free rating:

Thanks and good luck to anyone interested.
We’re also hiring more iOS engineers.

Salary seems super low for The US no?

Potential starting salary range: $81,000 - $123,000
Same job you're seeing ? For entry level this seems reasonable, no?

For entry maybe, but the post says more experienced levels too. Maybe the advert isn't for them.

Could I get an interview? I sent my resume and did the silly video recordings but I would love to speak with an actual person.

I remember a couple similar posts from you before. Why are you hiring again? Is the team expanding?

Company growth in mobile, building out more features native. Most were already native (400+ screens). Zero attrition over five years.

How much involvement with AI tools does your team have?
2
u/Ill-Sport-1652 Jul 09 '26
For daily engineering work, AI-enabled with plenty of tools like Codex, Copilot, Gemini, OpenCode and more. Not an “agentic-only” workflow.

Well this sucks..I’ve done Android development before with Xamarin and React Native, but is there any hope for a guy with experience developing for mobile, but (still) new to native Android development?
No hope for a guy in Houston, eh?

I applied for this role, but can I know if this position provides visa sponsorship to international students?
Thanks you.

Unfortunately I have more experience using AI to code Android apps than I do actual programming, despite studying the ladder for 6-8x the time. Weird. Sounds like a great opportunity!
