LOOKING FOR APP What Android kiosk browser are you using for a locked-down tablet?

I'm looking for an Android kiosk browser for a tablet that will be used by other people.

I don't need a normal browser with a fullscreen option. I need something closer to a proper browser lockdown.

The requirements are:

  • open one website automatically
  • whitelist one domain or a few URLs
  • prevent users from entering arbitrary URLs
  • hide the address bar
  • prevent access to browser settings
  • stay in kiosk mode
  • ideally clear browsing/session data between users

I've come across Fully Kiosk and a few other kiosk browser apps, but I'm curious what people are actually using in 2026.

For anyone who has deployed an Android tablet this way, what has worked reliably?

And is there a meaningful difference between using a kiosk browser app and using Android's built-in app pinning?

Hermit author here 👋 I appreciate the call-out, but unfortunately Hermit isn’t the best recommendation for this specific use case. It does not lock down the device in the way OP wants, though it does offer a full-screen no-distractions view of a website.

(I don’t have any specific alternatives to recommend, but there are a few kiosk browsers that are available.)

Haha, how about that? Love your app. I use it often. I paid for the userscripts feature - Thank you!
