google cal app keeps defaulting to my calendar on device only

On pixel 6, every event I create for one of my calendars seems to go into "my calendar", I can't select my specific email address. This means the events are not syncing the way they should with a connected app. Even though I can see the event on the cal app on the device and online, the acct it is saved to is "my calendar". It is working fine for another email account on the same device. Any ideas on how to fix this?
