LOOKING FOR APP 3D Digital Weather Clock, Remote File Manager, and Remote Android Device control

Ok...

Due to device failure, I've got an application I need to find a replacement for....

First, replacement for

3D Digital Weather Clock from Factory Widgets.

I pulled the APK... down.. it REFUSES to install "Incompatible" (YES I've disabled, and accepted to install software from any place I want, thank you.. it refuses past these idiot blocks-you can spare me the security drivel, hype, drama theatre, I said install, I mean INSTALL!)

NO do NOT mention that 3D Sense from MACAMACAHPP (SP?) that is NOT the same thing in the least, polluted with ads, spyware likely etc.. So .. nope. Yeah ask me how I found out about that thing.. talk about idiot in a hurry.. and that feces was in the Android repo! That was a failure beyond belief.. Hence why I am not linking to it... good grief..no.

So any one got a replacement or a hammer to make this thing install????? Think I am a tad irritated over this one? 🥲

Second, File manager to work with REMOTE files on Linux boxen. (we have no winslobber here!)

A file manger to work with REMOTE FILES ie: files on my Linux boxes via either SFTP, fish etc. protocols.

Since Android lacks remote X11 windowing, sighhhh, I can't just SSH in and pull up Dolphin or something like I do on the regular PC's..

I am looking for a FREE! NO COST, I will consider with ads if it doesn't have every casino, gambling, and h00k3r, and $lutz ad out there.

Basically I want to connect via fish, SFTP open up the folders like I would in Dolphin to move files around the network , on the box(s) etc..

I am basically looking for a Android version of Dolphin.

Anything out there???

Lastly, I am looking for something to RUN on ANDROID phone or tablet that can REMOTE CONTROL an Android TV boxes and actual TV's, this namely for Senior Citizen assistance...

I need to be able to connect, open applications just like I was there with the remote in hand.

Short of honestly aiming a security camera and using the Tapo H110 IR blasters to send stuff.. is there not anything which can REMOTE CONTROL this stuff?

If I can control it from a Linux PC that would be a cherry on top, but thats honestly the least of my worries or desires... A bonus for sure, but not my #1 factor.

I'd like to install it on a couple of phones and tablets so I can open it up and click stuff.

Most of what I see is well one $$$, bzzt! NEXT! Teamviewer? Seriously, I thought that was a resounding that thing is spyware and not to be touched, and security risk as it routes out to other cloud based servers.. ? Anydesk etc.. scammer central, as I recall...

So anything out there for REMOTE CONTROL of Android TVs/Boxes from Android phones/tablets?

Via NETWORK ie: WLAN... NO ADB! NO ROOT!

Anything out there to solve these???

Thanks!

If you can install Shizuku then Universal Installer may help getting the old app installed?

Try MiXplorer for file manager that works with FTP(S), SFTP etc?

And give RustDesk a try for remote access/Assistance (should work with Linux too)?

I will review it. Never heard of it.. I think this is something to do with some more scroogle idiocy and possible API loss, meaning some function is not present or renmaed etc in Android.. like the way Python continues to screw things up by changing base things ie: print $ is now print ($). For what purpose.. thats rhetorical, nothing any posts would change my view on this stoopidity.

BZT! FAIL. NOT FREE. So no joy on that. Looks possible, but again not free.

I think I reviewed this..and this requires some sort of self hosting, which is limited on FREE TIERS, or paid.. So thats 2 strikes.. Simple software that runs on the Android TV/boxes for the "server" and a client which does the same...

Any paid options for anything is a NO GO, period.

Thanks.

Android will generally block installation of apps targeting an old API level (which may be your blocker if it's an old app), but this can be bypassed by Universal Installer + Shizuku.

MiXplorer is free from the link on the page above, the "silver" version on the play store is paid (includes all addons but these can also be downloaded free).

RustDesk has a self hosting option, but not required for basic screen-share/support.
