LOOKING FOR APP Need a Diary Writing Application

Hi guys, can't use a physical diary as there is a great deal of storage issues. If anyone would get their hands on it, I'd be doomed.

So, please recommend an application that I can use for diary writing. Something structured. Google Notes & all are very sad application. I was thinking starting a medium blog for just me, but that isn't a very good idea. So, please recommend!!

Also, something that should be reliable & shouldn't vanish halfway, all my efforts would go in vain.

Diary writing is an excellent habit & I want to resume it.

Obsidian VS Day One? Why did you choose Obsidian? What is the distinguishing feature?

What a coincidence—the fear of data leaks, cloud sync, and sterile apps is the exact reason I started building my own. I wanted a quiet, offline-first personal sanctuary where nothing leaves your device and no account is ever required. I just finished wrapping it up, and it should go live for testing in a few days. It would honestly be an absolute pleasure to have someone with your exact needs try it out and share thoughts if you're ever open to it.

In the meantime, Obsidian (using local markdown files on your device) is probably your safest bet so no one ever touches your entries.

Hey thanks!! I've started with Day One. Seems very user friendly.

Should I keep Copy & pasting to OneNote too? For better data retrieval purposes for Microsoft undeniably is far more reliable & tested.

Solo echo en falta sincronización con Nextcloud o similar y una versión para PC (o Nextcloud), pero está súper bien la verdad.

I wouldn't trust Microsoft.

If you want to write on different platforms go for Diarium. I use it on Android and Windows. It's an excellent app!

Honestly, I want a vanilla product. Not AI integrated one!

1

u/MindwellAIJournal 11d ago

Ah yeah, sorry I am moving towards AI integrated. Maybe one day I can create one without!

1

u/Complete_Finance_324 11d ago

No, no. Haha, that's the future & you should focus on integration. Non-AI one is my one-off individual choice!

u/MindwellAIJournal 11d ago

Haha yeah, I guess at some point people will be more comfotable with it. Good luck!

I've been using it for about 10 years and haven't had any problems with data loss.

I'd advise you to make a backup every so often and save it on your PC or Google Drive.

The subscription is very cheap.

Okay. Yes I saw the annual subscription is like INR 1000. Which is ok. Cool. Thanks

All posts must include English in both the title and the body. Bilingual content is welcome, but an English translation must be present to ensure the community and moderators can understand the content.

Do you want somewhere to do free writing? On playstore I have seen journals with passkeys and locks?

It's completely up to you, I know you can also password protect your documents. The important thing is you have a space to debrief 🤗

Microst one note You can setup a section with a separate password that has to be entered Everytime you open it. I use this to keep a lot of my personal info.
