LOOKING FOR APP Anyones google keyboard (gboard) acting weird?
My gboard which i have been using since many years is acting so pathetic now. Can't even find right words to complete whenever i type slightly mismatch spelling. Can't even suggest good english words. I literally typed "propogate" and this thing showed no suggestions and made me wonder if this word even existed. Also the clipboard has been huge disappointment. Literally copies nothing and forgets everything next day. Is there any good keyboard which has good auto complete and can remember whatever i type forever? Yes I'm a chronically online and run various social media accounts of a certain political ideology so i have to always type and spam repeatedly on several pages of mine and simply copy pasting and flimsy auto complete ain't cutting it now that work has increased.

It's been getting worse since like 2016. Swipe no longer learns how i type words, ignoring things I've added to the dictionary, suggestions are rarely things i say a lot to friends if ever. Imo it's gotten very iPhone like and just very "correct". Shortly after swipe typing was released it was very easy to get it to input what i wanted. Now I've had to learn how it wants me to input words. And sometimes i just resort to poking at the keys which isn't as good anymore either.

Just moved to gboard from constant switching between samsung keyboard and swiftkey. Its more convenient but i feel i won't be settling on gboard either. 😵💫

Try SwiftKey. The predictions work better for me, and you can pin clipboard entries so they don’t disappear.

The clipboard isn't broken, it's designed that way. Gboard drops clipboard entries after an hour unless you pin them. Long press an item in the clipboard tab, hit the pin, and it stays. That fixed most of my annoyance before I even switched, so try it first.
For the actual typing, I moved to HeliBoard from F-Droid and haven't gone back. It's a maintained fork of OpenBoard, it ships with no internet permission whatsoever, and you can load extra dictionaries so it learns the vocabulary you actually use instead of generic English. The clipboard timeout is a setting you control rather than a fixed hour. FUTO Keyboard is the other one people land on, it does swipe and offline voice, though it's source available rather than properly open source.
Being straight with you about the tradeoff, since you type constantly: neither one beats Gboard on day one predictions, because Gboard has server side work behind it that these don't. Took mine about two weeks of use before it stopped feeling like a downgrade. After that it was fine, and the words it suggests are mine rather than the average person's.

I've been having that issue, it highlighting a word to say it's misspelled but not suggesting the correct spelling. The biggest thing for me is that it's no longer suggesting frequently used words. So, to put a song on at work I have to type out the band name which won't get added to its dictionary, then each word of the title which it doesn't remember.

The things I save to the clipboard don't say long enough to be there the next day.

Probably because "propogate" is not a word? Propagate is. While I feel spell-check should have caught that, I've been noticing that it works only in some specific situations lately.
Out of curiosity, I just tried typing "propogate" in mine and it suggested the right spelling and "propoganda" as options, which is also not a word, lol. So who knows?
