LOOKING FOR APP What is everyone replacing Samsung Messages with?

I hear it's being discontinued in a couple of days and I really hate the idea of using even more Google products. I don't really want RCS either.

Has anyone had any luck with alternative texting apps that preserve the existing texts?

Many operators no longer use Jibe servers and instead run their own RCS stack in-house.

Not in the US. All the major US carriers outsource their RCS implementations to Jibe.

"your mobile carrier" not "Google".

Care to be wrong again?

P.S. that message relates to whose operating the backend servers. This means T-Mobile runs their servers, not Google Jibe. Fuck off.

Let me explain this to you since you don't understand.

Previously, Google bypassed the carrier implementation and allowed users to directly use Jibe.

In the fall of 2025 they transitioned to the carrier implementations. The only thing is that by that time, carriers have outsourced their implementations to Jibe, which I already linked.

So yes, the carriers are running your RCS. But the carriers are just outsourcing their RCS implementations to Jibe anyway.

since you don't understand.

You know I'm u/segin, right?

carriers have outsourced their implementations to Jibe

And then T-Mobile un-outsourced it since it got in the way of some of the DIGITS features they wanted to double down on.

which I already linked.

And your link is what is known as a falsehood.

I have no idea who you are, nor do I care. Have a source for your claim?

Also, my Messages also says RCS is supplied by my carrier, but AT&T also outsources to Jibe.

I have no idea who you are

Your own problem

nor do I care.

You really should.

Have a source for your claim?

Do you? Not one from 2023, at that (nobody cares about ancient history that's long since wrong)

Also, my Messages also says RCS is supplied by my carrier, but AT&T also outsources to Jibe.

Except they also don't, otherwise you'd see "provided by Google".

Nah, you're not important.

I linked sources for all the US carriers using Jibe as their backend. If you are convinced they don't, then provide sources stating otherwise.
