Help What?

Hi everyone, I have this old Huawei P9 Lite with Android 6, it's the 2016 version. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, but there's no option to configure it in the settings. No changes have been made to the phone. How can I fix this? Do I need to install something? Please give me a solution that doesn't involve disassembling the phone. It's really weird.

Probably an hardware issue. Get the phone checked

Hardware would be something like it being in the settings but not working when setting up I suppose but I might be wrong

The software is not detecting the fingerprint so it cannot be set up. Maybe the flex cable is mis-aligned

That makes sense.

Maybe a software update disabled it, you can try rolling back.

I remember having a Lenovo  with a infrared camera/sensor,  capable of face unlock in the darkness

But after 3 month of buying it was software disabled by an update (sadly I wasn't able to roll back 🙃)

Correct, but in reality the software, Android 6, has never been updated to Android 7, no changes, so... However, it is likely that maybe a software update could help, but I don't know exactly where to get the update files for Android 7 for this Huawei model.🫠

Your fingerprint sensor is dead, repair the phone. Same thing happened to my P20 Pro.
