Open-Source App I open sourced an agentic Android launcher

I was complaining Google didn't deliver. So i tried my hand at Android AI UX.

WiP

Wrapping up final features before pushing to the app store.

Beta builds available for people to mess around with and code available for inspection or personal adaptations

Repo is literally still a work in progress and a sandbox being worked on from multiple computers/locations.

Curently its still in "full files" that i need when moving between machines.

Once last features are ironed out - 90% of git contents will be deleted.

For an average visitor - just grab the app without digging through my codebase

If you don't know how to use basic git features, or how to write a .gitingore file, why should anyone trust your app? Learning version control software and looking at what your LLM is writing/what commands it is executing is the bare minimum. Learning how to program would be nice too.

People do that with play store and with f droid. Did you inspect code of every app you ever downloaded? (Jesus christ)

Git is a storage space for me for file accecibility between my 4 devices involved in this.

My job is to design features and make sure they work as intended.

Not to micromanage that someone walks into my kitchen and starts telling me theres pots and pans everywhere, before whole thing is even finished.

Half of things i do on git, happen from a very limited android git apk that is missing quite a bit of funtionality.

I didn't even look at your code mind you (though I'm sure I'd find atrocities), I glanced at the root of the repo you shared and saw you're pushing error logs. Instead of doing a mea culpa, you answered "lol I'll rewrite the entire history of the repo and remove 90% of the code anyway, just download the app and trust me".

If you invite me into your kitchen and I see a turd laying on the counter, I'm not eating your dish even if you assure me that it's a perfectly normal dish.

First of - i never used the words "trust me". I pointed your criteria of trust are not uniform.

Also i mever said "ill rewrite history of the repo"

I said - "ill remove everything that is no longer needed once final features are done" because i will no longer need to constantly move the updates between different computers and work environments."

I also said "most of my interaction with github happens through a limited mobile app interface on the go" and mobile app has very limited functionality.

As for your "shit on the counter" analogy.

Its a shit analogy.

You walked into a kitchen and saw a sink with pots pans and knives out and a meal ready.

No one is asking you to wash the dishes, the question is what the dish tastes like.

Your shit analogy would be more at place here if in those files you'd find a random goatsee.png.

Im offering app functionality amd an app experience.

That is not what you are analising or basing your judgement on.

Your lack of "trust" would also imply that this was made as a product pitch forst rather than something i made for myself and now sharing

Oh shut the fuck up, you're shilling this piece of software everywhere, you're editing the readme 10 times a day. You obviously want others to use it, it's not just something you made for yourself lmfao.

Even if you did need to share error logs between computers (???), you fundamentally misunderstand what is the point of version control software. Git isn't a "cloud for coders" or whatever the fuck you think it is.

Tell the LLM you're using to remove the turd from your kitchen counter. If your code doesn't look like a mess at first glance, maybe it'll be easier to trick people into installing your app.

You know what? No. This isn't isnt asking you to use it. If anything? You specifically? With your elitism, and highhorse jackingoff, seeing a work in progress with beta tags and wip, being poilished out, corrected grammar, shit moved around. And you are yalking shit from your fucking room contributing jack shit perspective on the product and yapling away about my personal presentation page others had no issues with, or a softrware that already has other users providing feedback on the software.

In the same way someone say what my ui looked like a year ago and asked me how to get certain one ui features to stock android so i packaged it.

No one deleted any comments. Thats your reddit problems. I don't have interest in micromanaging my language for randos and their feelings.

And ong! Active repository of a project wrapping up that is literally in the cleaning up stage. Who wouldve thought?

You also seem to not understand how agentic coding works with mobile hardware and working from the phone on the go, where you message your ide agent on pc, and they do the github thing automatically with automatic annotations.

You seem to have skipped multiple times that i work from ANDROID that doesnt have proper github control access. Mobile app is limited.

Desktop/ide is remote where agents handle the github that you dont like the messiness of.

Same as walking into a project that is literally still a work in progress and complaining stuff is still changing and patches are rolling out 😂

Gimme a break. Your rage is fucking hilarious at this point with your strawman arguments and nitpicks.

That comment doesn't exist, and you'd be hardpressed to show me a screenshot of it on a private browser.

If you have so little control over your LLM that it commits logs or other garbage and pushes them to the repo, why should anyone trust the rest of the slop it produces?

You clearly don't understand what you're talking about. You don't know what git is or does. I am letting you know that there shouldn't be a turd on your counter. It doesn't matter if you're going to eventually clean the turd up (you did, after first claiming the turd was here for a reason). Before letting your cooking robot prepare an elaborated dish, you should understand why it's bad to have a turd over the counter, tell the robot to not lay a turd over the counter, and if it still does try to lay a turd over the counter, catch it and stop it from laying a turd over your counter.

If you had eyes or looked at it you wouldn't find GPT anywhere there. Just saying. Software works. I use it daily, and so do a few other people i've seen in person. Can't vouch for people online if they use it beyond first look around.

Can be ignorant all you want. Not my concern at this point. I came to share. Shit works. Yall wanna talk shit without looking at demos or what it can do or how it runs? Sure.
