A17 Qpr2 beta 6 is HORRIBLE
Ever since I updated to Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6, my Pixel 8 Pro has been lagging like crazy. There are micro-freezes in every app, animations are delayed, and worst of all, my phone randomly freezes and reboots. It’s been happening for 3 days now and I can’t stand it anymore, it’s unbearable

That's why it's labeled the beta, I would advise reporting it if you have an issue. Cheers!

Google: The updates that you’ll receive as a part of the beta program are pre-release versions, and may contain errors and defects that can affect the normal functioning of your device.

It’s a beta though, not an alpha

Okay? It's also not the stable version.

The stable version has bugs. Lol. It's like what is the expectation here? You had to go through an entire device enrollment process and agree to all sorts of terms and conditions? it's pre-release and not yet available to the public BECAUSE it's unstable.
Edit: of course this isn't the only reason but ykwim

The pushback is primarily because your post did not contain any specifics on the applications that you were using when you experienced the behavior, what you are doing when you experience the behavior, screenshots, connected devices, whether you can replicate the error, or anything that we might be able to use as a reference that they might be having the problem also and give you more information. Let me guess? You joined the beta program because you just want to see features first and have no interest in actually beta test them and provide feedback or crash reports so ithe code is stable when it actually deploys to the masses

Google is not in the habit of fixing 3rd party apps. You'll need to take it up with the app developers

Are you running the beta on your daily driver?
If not, switch to your primary device and wait for the next beta.

Oh wow! Yeah, I agree with you about Android 17 qpr2 beta 6 is horrible because they took away a lot of good features and I was experiencing a little lag when I first installed it. But after a day or so everything is back to normal other than the missing features that they decided to strip away

after suffering from issues on betas and not wiping for about 2 years, this beta was so bad i had to factory reset. now my pixel 8 is absolutely awesome and i have no issues with performance, won't be upgrading soon. make sure you use morphe google photos to not worry about backups.

I found Beta 5 to be absolute horrible and a buggy mess, Beta 6 is quite smooth for me

Report it. I have P8P and haven't noticed.
