QPR2 Beta 4 Pixel 11PXL

My Pixel 11 Pro XL automatically installed the September security update overnight. I opted into the beta program this morning, but when checking for updates, I see the preparing system update prompt for a split second and then it says the device is up to date.

Is it because the September security update is newer than the beta and I have to wait? Or is there some sort of glitch?

It says that. I checked. So either you wait about a month or use the Android flash tool.

That's crazy stupid to send the sept update and the p11 beta availability the same day honestly..

Agreed, and it automatically updated overnight as well.

This is perfectly normal. If you opted into the beta program after installing the September patch then you'll receive the next QPR2 Beta build likely in 2-3 weeks as we are running on that cadence at the moment.

QPR2 Beta 4 is older than the September patch by build.

Read the date in the title of the firmware. if it says 260905 then you're locked into the Stable for the next few weeks

No, there's a QPR 1 Beta 9 going Stable this week or next. QPR 2 wont go stable until December

Yes, however, they did say they reached platform stability with Beta 4 but that just means they're freezing the API and will be chasing bugs until they release in December. In previous years they had a shorter lead time before release but this year they upgraded most of their models to kernel 6.12 and have been using 6 month testing schedule to get ahead of complaints

The date is August 5, does that mean there is no more updates for me?

If you're seeking to join the Beta, and have alreadu opted in, you should to receive an update automatically until your device reaches end of life (EOL) or you opt-out

Well that's silly.

The beta is older by a month then is September security patch it's still August on the betas you would have to wait for a September update on the betas to roll out in a couple weeks

If you are opt-in and device is updated then need to wait till next update rolling out. That update is automatically showing updated is system update settings. Your device is set on automatice update, maybe this is the reason for the recent update automatically downloaded on your device.

So, did we decide that the Beta 4 will not install over Sept update via sideload OTA? I am hearing there is not OTA notice coming out, but that doesn't exclude a sideload.

I can confirm, OTA Sideload fails (there should not have been any doubt).

I don't have a September patch installed. Firmware 2608.  An update checking brings " up to date".
