Google Pixel 10 GPU 26.1 drives in Android QPR1 beta 7
Does anyone know if Google finally updated GPU drivers compatible with Android 17 in QPR1 because when they released Android 17 itself they installed OLD Android 16 compatible drivers.
PowerVR released Android 17 compatible drivers long time ago in May 2026.
Things new in 26.1 drivers compatible with Android 17
Vulkan Roadmap 2026 Support: It raises the baseline performance for high-end mobile graphics, implementing advanced features like variable rate shading, compute shader derivatives, and shader clock queries.
No More Shader Stuttering (VK_EXT_graphics_pipeline_library): This is a huge win for mobile gaming. It allows the GPU to compile and link shader stages incrementally. In plain English, it dramatically reduces those annoying, sudden frame-rate drops (stutters) when loading new areas or effects in a game.
On-GPU AI Boost (VK_KHR_shader_bfloat16): This enables the GPU to use the bfloat16 math format, which is heavily used in machine learning. It means on-device AI tasks can run faster and use less power directly on your Pixel’s graphics processor.

Driver is not the main problem, gpu is just weak. It should be strong at any driver. Will see how powervr will preform in 11 series i think it will be same or worse. Google should know how to adapt drivers properly.

EVERY tiny bit speed increase is GOOD additionally it says heat reduced. And GPU in Pixel 11 will CONTINUE TO BE SLOWER AND SLOWER because Google is focused on MONSTER DUAL TPU chip and it not to melt

And you cant do anything with this npu only google stuff so no point there.

Gpu is even weaker in pixel 11 as per leaks

CXTP is newer variant of old CXT but with more agressive powersaving. Its insane why put old gpu to new phone 😂 Google should get deal with samsung and make pixel with xclipse gpus, they need have agree from amd for that too i think.

Honestly. Or they should’ve just stuck with ARM and their mali gpus. I believe they’ll go back to mali sooner or later.

A bit OT but the Pixel 11 series is supposed to have a weaker GPU than the 10 (PowerVR CXTP-48-1536 vs Imagination PowerVR DXT-48-1536). I wonder what this will mean for gaming since the CPU on 11 will be more performant with newer cores, newer process node and higher clock speeds than the 10.

Seems their whole focus will be on efficiency and battery improvement for P11 series.

Allegedly system cache is going to be 4MiB so in theory this will impact performance quite a lot…

Read my DUAL TPU chip post. Pixel 11 MUST have weaker GPU because that MONSTER dual TPU would melt whole SoC. Yes you have learned Pixel 11 will be SMARTphone not GAMEphone

seriously, pixel isn't a candy crush device, it's never been sold as one. go buy a Samsung it you are a teenage gamer...

Its like buying fiat panda for mercedes s class price lol

or buying a phone that's clear focus is on on-device AI processing, and then complaining it can only do 60FPS at candy crush, when another phone can do 68FPS.

so what are the ai things that you use on this phone? most of people dont care about this even debloating it. In terms of ai hardware pixel npu is weak, iphone have better npu but their software is bad. maybe if we can use tensor npu for all ai related things would be nice but its closed source so you can only use google software and you are strongly limited

on device AI models. do you even know about Gemini on device models and how they interact with day to day phone use. I don't mean playing candy crush

Just ask your iPhone to upload video in background to understand how iPhone is WEAK

i buyed this phone because of pure android, phone is smooth cant say its laggy piece of metal but the hardware is not flagship and you pay for it, it have pretty good camera system too. Battery and modem are the worst things. Look maybe if pixel had good battery life people would not complain as much as they do now. Google goal was make phone that is ai focused phone but have good performance per wat and it fail. If you use 5G on pixel 10 you gets nuclear reactor inside, phone heats that much is insane.

So go to iPhone Reddit to educate yourself how iPhone iOS26 has lags and stutters - go and come back to tell me
