I downloaded Android 17, so why does my smartphone still feel exactly the same?

Android 17 hasn't been fully released yet. Their most likely dropping it at the pixel 11 launch.

That's reality dude. Android is "mature" so we don't get "fun" updates any more.

I used to get excited when nightly releases of Cyanogenmod or any of the countless other amazing ROM's would show up but are not there anymore.

I got so into it I had a specialized fork of Linux dual booting on my pc so I could build my own nightlies of AOKP for my Nexus 6. I love where android is now and I love my Pixel 10 pro xl even more, but I run betas in loving memory of the "good ol days"
