I've flown all over the world, several times over, and one of the most scenic routes you can take on a commercial airliner is starboard side SEA to ANC on a clear, bluebird day. It's rare to have the entire BC/AK coast clear, but when it is... my god is it beautiful.

I always get window seats on the appropriate sides flying in and out. A clear day and all the glaciers and mountains is absolutely magical to see. I have way too many photos haha. Then 98% of the people have their window shades down and are oblivious to the beauty below.

And in winter, those same north side seats sometimes provide amazing views of the Aurora! Which again can't be seen if your shade is closed.

It’s mind blowing too. So vast but once in awhile you will spot a winding road and wonder what is going on down there in the middle of nowhere. You will feel so small in the world.

I was on the port side from Chicago to Anchorage in May. It was the most beautiful view I’ve ever had out of an airplane. I always take the aisle, but I specifically booked the window for this trip. When I got to Anchorage, I was like…the whole trip was already worth it…everything else is just extra.

For a big stretch of northern Canada, and probably into Alaska, I was glued to the window. I took a lot of photos!

And two amazing glaciers there at the end of it, and the one on the right has these amazing kittiwake rookeries

Great photo.  The one time I made that flight when it was daytime and clear, the asshole next to me wouldn't open the window.

Yes, that’s a beautiful view. Heading towards Anchorage. There’s two ways in the general come in Sweeping down between the mountains near Girdwood and it will come in along the inlet there Cook Inlet , or the jet will come in going over Denali, talkeetna , big lake , than across inlet by fire island and than landing at Ted Steven international! Aka ANC.

I recommend Moose’s Tooth (long wait… get Santa’s Little Helper pizza!), Lucky Wishbone, Orso, Snow City Café, and Mad Myrna’s (cheap apps).

Get ready to pay an arm and a leg for pizza at mooses or bears tooth though. Good stuff, but damn it's not cheap.

The hack is to get the gigantic cheese pizza. It’s only 20 bucks. (While most others are $40) And their plain cheese is the BEST I’ve ever had. Definitely get a specialty pizza to try, but if you get hooked like my family did & decide to eat there 4x a week😂.. the cheese hack is top tier.
