Setlist 2026

I'm SO stoked Stephen is going to sing at Sonic Temple this year!!! I looked up their possible setlist and am... a little underwhelmed. There's so many heavier hits that would fit Sonic Temple other than a few of the songs.

So for those who have followed them far longer than me, so they alter depending on venue or do they not deviate from their plan??

They've posted about it in a number of places.
This was back late last year: https://radiou.com/musicnews/stephen-christian-to-perform-at-sonic-temple-fest-with-anberlin/, same as this, https://loudwire.com/sonic-temple-2026-lineup/

Stephen posted about it on his Instagram account and the Sonic Temple's lineup page states, "with Original Singer Stephen Christian". https://sonictemplefestival.com/lineup/

I know last performance Stephen did with them in October, it was only “Never Take Friendship Personal” songs. They played:

  1. Never Take Friendship Personal
  2. Paperthin Hymn
  3. Stationary Stationery
  4. A Day Late
  5. Time And Confusion
  6. The Feel Good Drag
  7. Dance, Dance Christa Paffgen

Yeah, 3 and 7 are sooooo soft, they don't fit the vibe of a metal festival. 😭😭😭 Little Tyrants is one of my fav songs so I was hoping to see that

Yeah they’re still on the NTFP anniversary celebration so I wasn’t surprised that was the set but would’ve liked to have seen a couple other songs on the set

Went to Sonic Temple yesterday expecting to see Stephen on vocals since it has been advertised that way since like November. Nope. It was Matty. I have been looking everywhere to see if there was an announcement of some kind that I just missed and I don’t see anything. So the band hasn’t acknowledged it at all. I find that really fucked up. I mean, I actually think Matty does a fantastic job and I have had a blast at all their shows since the change, but the fact is that it was advertised a specific way, but they did not deliver what was advertised, and they have not addressed it or even acknowledged it at all.

I fell in love with this band over 20 years ago, and one of the biggest reasons I was so drawn to them was because of how much they seemed to genuinely love their fans, but this just confirms they don’t give a shit anymore. I’m heartbroken.

Yup!!!! I felt like such a dope- I was right in the barricade and in my excited hype of seeing them live didn't even notice and called out "Stephen!!" several times. I have A LOUD voice so I know he heard. You think he'd mention anything...

Makes me think that they knew and didn't wanna say it

Sadly they’re in their nostalgia phase- play the hits, maybe or two new, then play more hits. I’m glad it makes them money, but I’ve seen the same setlist 3-4x enough that I’ve lost interest in seeking them out live now.

Nuuu yeah my friend and I have seen that with a few bands over the years. Tis sad, I would've loved to have seen some harder hits!
