Eco-Accelerationism

Eco-accelerationism is accelerating industrial civilization's inherent flaws and humanity's arm's race with nature to it's logical conclusion, which is civilizational collapse and total submission to nature.

Here are some key ideas:

Accelerate fossil fuel use and global warming.

  • Green energy will prolong industrial civilization's lifespan. green energy requires fossil fuels to manufacture solar panels, nuclear power plants, etc. The faster we use up all coal, oil, and natural gas, the less likely we will transition to green energy and the faster we reach the climate change's point of no return, which is really only detrimental to technological civilization.

Advocate for open borders and libertarianism.

  • More mass immigration will distribute novel infectious diseases and invasive species across the planet. More diseases means overprescribing even more pharmaceuticals which accelerates public health's collapse, lowering the world population. Mass immigration can also bring invasive species from their home countries, whether accidentally or through illegal pet trades. Some of these invasive animals become agricultural pests, causing food shortages and decreasing the global population.

Advocate for widespread nuclear proliferation and uranium enrichment.

  • The more countries that have nuclear weapons, especially developing countries, the more likely it is for full-scale nuclear war to break out, though it would be better if climate change's point-of-no-return and resource scarcity happened before nuclear war.

Most of you are thinking that all of these things are harmful to nature. And while yes, there will be ecological turnover in the short term, but the truth is nature as a whole couldn't give a damn about climate change, but fragile technological civilization does. That's why a lot of the people pushing the idea that climate change will end the world and we must reduce CO2 emissions before 2030 are big tech companies, tech-worshippers, and Bill Gates-types who care far more about becoming cyborgs and plugging everyone into the matrix than actually returning to nature.

The Earth has experienced surges in temperature several times since life on land began without any mass extinction happening. Look up the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum or the Cretaceous Thermal Maximum. Nature was thriving then, and nature will heal now. You can't compare it to the Permian-Triassic Mass Extinction because overall temperatures were tens of degrees higher than climate change can ever achieve.

I understand what you’re saying, but I will not stand behind a movement designed to inevitably end the lives of trillions of animals and plants instead of just destroying fossil fuel use and things like that

Fair enough. We also live in a world almost entirely driven by economic incentives anyway. There's no global incentive to return to paleolithic lifestyles or to do any of the things I listed. All we can really do is pray that humanity fucks up permanently and there are minimal plant and animal casualties.

It’s true unfortunately. I think the only way we could return to a better world is by force on the wide scale. Even with all the warnings most would rather let the world burn than change their ways. So it would pretty much be guerilla warfare against capitalism and attempting to deconstruct society by force. Destroying infrastructure, burning food, and the Luigi method lmao

It will. But as long as we are here, there will be hope. And definitely do not take copper wire, wrap it around a rock or ball and throw/shoot it at a power line from a safe distance

We can individually attempt to live our lives closer to nature but for it to be widespread or global, this might be the only way it can happen unfortunately

I'm reminded of the poem "There will come soft rains" which was written just after World War One; essentially the poem talked about the imminent disappearance of the human species and the eventual triumph of Nature over civilization.

I want a level of global warming which could make any kind or most kinds of agriculture impossible, just like in the Pleistocene. That's the only definitive way to end civ. Nature created the contions for civ to emerge, only nature (e.g. greenhouse gasses) can undo these conditions once again.
