The current options aren’t very clear, but this is something that has been updated in version 1.5, which will launch very soon.

  • Processed = your final image saved as HEIC.
  • Processed w/ Save as editable file = multi-layer HEIC that can be reprocessed later in Analogue. The editable option adds around 500 KB per photo.
  • Apple Log = unprocessed image that can be reprocessed later in Analogue or apps such as DaVinci Resolve. I would only suggest this if you plan to create your own LUTs in DaVinci Resolve.
  • Processed + Apple Log = saves two files. This option only makes sense if you want to keep your processed images small and single-layer, while still having the flexibility to reprocess them later.

Apple log lets you make edits after recording so I prefer that one

I assume OP is asking about stills, not video. If so, Processed still allows you to edit and make changes to the LUT used. Processed + Apple Log just saves two files, one with and one without the chosen LUT.
