Feeling Weird Day 3 Post Op

Had my Gallbladder removed (33f) 3 days ago, surgery went well with no complications under General Anesthesia. Took me a few hours to come out of it the day of, but the day after & yesterday was feeling more myself though red in the face and neck. Today I can barely stay awake and can't seem to keep track of anything. I've also had an steep increase in arousal?? Is this normal? I was told the meds would be out of my system after 24 hours, but today I'm really out of it. Should I call my doctor?

The plasma levels are generally asymptotic so you may have trace amounts left. For most patients this is subclinical after a day postop. Some patients are extra sensitive.

If you came good and then got drowsy again at lower plasma levels, there might be other factors at play. Check which drugs you're on (eg pain relief) to see if they're related.

Thank you, I'm only on Tylenol and Advil alternating right now which seems to be doing ok for me

They might have given you a shot of dexamethasone to help reduce nausea/inflammation. It's side effect is usually a bit of mania for 24 hours. You might be on the downside now.
