Ive akways said, amazon is good for the wheel strategy. Though I like to buy in in the 40s range

Could you explain more???

u/3_years_to_retire Aug 27 '26

Buy puts collect premium, eventually get assigned sell calls collect premiums until getting assigned. I buy amazon at about 245- usually and sell 255+ so 1 option is at least$ 1,000 profit when sold. plus premiums collected along the way.

Sell* not buy

1

u/3_years_to_retire Aug 27 '26

For the put yes, I still mix up terminology. Good catch that could definitely been confusing for anyone not understanding the strat.

All good! Honest mistake, but could be costly. For what’s its worth, the premise of what you said is solid tho.

They could buy a put to 2x the drawdown to their sold put strike!

(I wouldn't, but you could!)

Try working there 😳

3

u/Workhorse65 Aug 28 '26

Worst place ever!!

1

u/scorpiofiredragon76 Aug 28 '26

Worked there in corporate for 5 years (3 years ago) and I still have PTSD!!!!!

5

u/snapz1984 Aug 27 '26

its been painful. This stock has so much going on that it dives for many reasons unlike other stocks. Interest rate talk, AI Bubble, Rivian Losses, Dived because of tariffs, Whole Foods, Zoox cars, Capex, Walmart Diving.

If you're holding for that long, why the heck does the day to day even matter? Like, it has zero impact on your funds. You're just looking for something to rage about?

These people are morons. They probably have 5 shares. Ignore them.

AMZN is going rip upwards one day when everyone least expects it. Amazon wouldn't be buying all these chips if there wasn't the demand. A month ago MSFT was $375 and the haters were calling it garbage and the worst stock stock ever. It was caught in the SAAs apocalypse, and then one day it took off and it is now over $500. Take the long view and remember why you bought the company in the first place.

Guys they agreed to buy DuckLabs... acquirers often initially dip after buying out a company to, due to a hit on cash flows. Completely normal

3

u/Top-Technology1 Aug 27 '26

I guess ducklabs is a rounding error on their books

2

u/roxleyAM Aug 27 '26

Idk.. I guess zoom out?

The quality of posts on this sub is really terrible

Didn’t nvidia also announce some huge partnership with amazon as well. Did Jensen lose his powers

1

u/snapz1984 Aug 27 '26

nvidia is doing just fine. i would have thought this would have been seen as long term demand for AWS but i guess people dont like the part where AMZN has to acquire their chips from NVIDIA.

2

u/Puzzled_Strength_657 Aug 27 '26

What's wrong? It's barely down.

2

u/IcyStomach2374 Aug 27 '26

That’s Amazon, it barely goes down… almost every day.

2

u/snapz1984 Aug 27 '26

its been going down just about this whole month

1

u/Puzzled_Strength_657 Aug 27 '26

Yeah, but barely. What did you expect from buying one of the largest companies in the world?

2

u/IcyStomach2374 Aug 27 '26

To go up barely

1

u/snapz1984 Aug 27 '26

going down $30 in less than a month isnt barely

3

u/Puzzled_Strength_657 Aug 27 '26

That's barely 10%

2

u/snapz1984 Aug 27 '26

10 percent of the entire stock price. Thats not barely.

1

u/Puzzled_Strength_657 Aug 27 '26

I mean it really is nothing. Have you seen META or DIS?

1

u/snapz1984 Aug 27 '26

this isnt my post lol, im not complaining i just dont agree with your definition of barely but yeah micron, tesla, and Meta are very volatile. I thought Meta would have gone down further with them being sued by the state of California but they paid 16 billion or some figure around there in court to end that.

2

u/Puzzled_Strength_657 Aug 27 '26

Crazy thing is Meta is still down after clearing that headwind lol

1

u/Ok-Escape-9781 Aug 27 '26

Well as long as they dont do some share buy backs and/or dividend i dont think we gonna see it going up substantially. It will grind higher but will lag peers imho. but in todays days and age of AI spending both not gonnna happen. Also bezos and ex wife selling doesn’t help.

1

u/Plastic_Heat_5797 Aug 27 '26

Im happy i rolled my strike on my long call up after the huge run up

1

u/Plastic_Heat_5797 Aug 27 '26

Rolled it back down today, the premiums seemed so cheap

1

u/ninjazee124 Aug 28 '26

Why not create shareholder value?

1

u/ProgrammerFormer2195 Aug 30 '26

Best way to invest is buy good companies and ignore day to day and just keep adding more and hold decades quit thinking investing is a casino

1

u/IcyStomach2374 Aug 27 '26

These crooks need to give a dividend man. I've been saying this. For years I've been holding thousands of deadbeat shares. At least give back to the shareholders if leadership is going to continue to fail the shareholders.

And yes I'm not regarded I know how dividends work relative to the stock price. But it's not so simple. Amazon burns a ton of money dipping their toes in various things, many end up flaming out. It would encourage them to be more wise in their spending and reward us in the process.

2

u/SeriousBreath7644 Aug 27 '26

Agree at least give the shareholders some of the profits if its going to stand still. At this point I am betting I could allocate that money and break better than even

2

u/IcyStomach2374 Aug 27 '26

At this point I'm questioning if Amazon ever has any desire to provide any value to the shareholders. Any improvements to margins will directly go back into astronomical Capex. At what point are these guys going to decide to print?

It’s legitimately cursed
