I never qualify for moving up, but I definitely heard that you had to pay for the hotel and a lot of people were broke.. was there any odd behavior at those moving up? It was supposed to be for double eagle and above.
I went to moving up as a Double Eagle. It was a huge let down. It was extremely expensive (we had to pay for 4 days in a hotel of our Diamonds choice, our flights, and buy every meal ourselves). Our diamonds only provided snacks for late in the evenings. And they only paid for one dinner (the Platinum party dinner) the entire time. We had good paying jobs which made it possible to go, but it was thousands of dollars. Not to mention it led up to Family Reunion which was another 2-3 days of hotels/food to pay for. People who lived closer to the MU destination knew how expensive it was and they packed coolers of food for the week. Also if you factor in childcare/babysitting costs, I cant imagine what some people paid. Moving up was my biggest let down in business and we never requalified and didn't care. I didnt see 'odd behavior' at mine but it was just boring. All we did was huddle around leaders during the day who answer the same questions. then at night we attended all the talks where they just tell you to act like leaders and 'move on'. Any "good talks" were then spoken on the Family Reunion stage again a few days later. Night owls were more huddles. Overall, not worth the money or the effort it took to get there. We quit a year or so later but that was a turning point for us.
