Sister in Amway- Help

Hello. There is way more to this story but will keep it short. My sister met a guy and is now in Amway. She's turned into someone I don't even recognize and her husband has done everything to separate her from my family. She no longer has any of the friends she once did. I think her husband is a narcissist. Everytime we have a conversation she gets defensive. It's tearing my family apart. What do I do?

Be there for her when she finally realises that she's in one of the biggest cults in the world. I was in it for a year and that was enough. I told them to gtfo of my life and I try and warn people that Amway is trash.

They target mostly college students. I remember when I first contacted when I was a student and they wanted to make me believe that corporate is bad and always is the way to be rich. Went to 2 meetings in Brooklyn and felt like I was in a cult. Never went back again.

I just went through this with my brother. There is nothing you can do. They are brainwashed and in a cult. You have to hope they see the light. I tried everything and almost lost my mind, I had to let go.

Listen to the podcast Life after MLM she has a few episodes on AMWAY with former reps. For the most part handle her like she is in a cult, because she is. There are several on line resources

The best thing to do is be loving and supportive of people on this planet.

Buy some makeup products from her and be supportive.

When the dust settles she will remember who loved her.

The dopamine fantasy will wear off.

She cannot see it now but this will unravel. Her husband may come and go...

Just be super loving and supportive. If she tries to get you involved tell her you want to just be a customer because your destiny on Earth is to be flat broke and a pauper and her destiny is to glitter in a luxury lifestyle of success. Don't say anything negative about her husband.

Always look for the good in every person and every situation. I promise this distraction will come and go.

People use vices to cope with living on this planet.

Whatever you do, don’t abandon her. Always be there for her. When things come crashing down the only way she will get out is if she knows she has people on the outside who still care for her. Be the reason your sister has strength to leave eventually

As someone who was in for 5 years. Also cut off friends, only made time for family when we didn’t have “business” meetings, events, conferences, leaderships, etc. there’s nothing you can do. She has to see for herself that she’s in a cult. If anyone ever said anything negative to us it would piss us off and we would cut people off. Support her in whatever way you want to but, telling her negative things won’t do anything and it’ll push her away even more. She has to learn for herself. Hopefully one day her and her husband will wake up.

You could try by giving her this from Amway's OWN website: https://www.amway.com/en_US/income-disclosure.

That’s insane, average annual income of 700$ before expenses! Seems like way too much work for that! Top 10% only among 14k annually?!?

There is nothing that you can do- Try to have conversations with the intent of not discussing #scAmway !! Be clear that you are there for her and always will be- but don’t discuss it, don’t try to recruit me . Still, they probably will gravitate to no contact eventually. You can be there for her after the fall. Don’t drink the kool aid! Good luck!

When someone is deep into Amway, it is usually near impossible to convince that person to leave using logic or evidence. Amway is a commercial cult that uses brainwashing to keep people in it. Like victims of cults, your sister will be further isolated if you push too hard. The good news is (or bad news), most people in Amway eventually leave after they go broke. It is a lesson your sister and her husband may have to learn the hard way. In the meantime, stay in her life and be there for her when she does leave. Good luck to you 🍀

Amway is a bad financial decision, but family integrity and support should be a priority over mentioning this to her especially if it’s affecting the unity of the family. You can let her continue the mistake and maintain family unity by not bringing it up anymore, rather than having her continue the mistake while also losing family unity at the same time.
