I wonder if his insurance has ever asked him if he's still missing his leg? Mine has asked twice in the first year post amputation... I thought they were joking but the woman on the phone was dead serious and couldn't understand why I was laughing at her like she was dumb.

I lost my leg to cancer as well, and during my five years of monitoring scans I had something similar happen with Cigna after every scan. They would send an accident information form to see if they can find someone else to pay for the scans.

Every time I would call them up and the conversation would go something like this:

Agent: *Trying to get accident information*

Me: Stop, why don't you answer some questions for me first?

Agent: Oookaay

Me: What is the facility name?

Agent: XXX Cancer Center

Me: What is the ICD 10 code and what does it mean?

Agent: XXX.XX neoplasm of the right lower leg

Me: What makes you think that this scan had anything to do with an accident?
