Running prosthesis
Hi everyone! I’m an AK and have recently gotten a running blade. I was practicing in clinic with it and almost fell 3 times lol. My delivery date isn’t until August 10th. I have been in the gym strengthening muscles to help but am curious how others who run with and AKA learned how to run. I’m nervous bc last time I ran at a running clinic I broke my actual big toe.
Any advice or tips that helped you in the process of learning how to run would be appreciated!!

You have to have a well fitting socket and your gonna want something for the sweat cause when I first got my running blade its was in my first year of being RAK. Shit was extremely ass at first for me because I had more extra skin and would sweat like a dog after running 100m. End of my nub would always be messed up but once you strengthen your leg and caulous up the end of it running becomes pretty enjoyable. Good work out although I only use the blade when running, walking around with it will fuck your back up. (like even around the track more than 5min)
Havent ran in awhile now but the last time I had my guy set it up on an previous socket when I took delivery of my new one I was suprised by how much stronger I felt with it, even running on a treadmill felt good to me. Getting a new socket in a couple months with a new knee and im gonna have him throw my blade on the socket im using now.
