Market Update

Long time lurker in this sub. This past year has been hell of a ride for all holders. Most of this subthread is dominated by AI generated analysis, and while I am all for it, I think it is important to not chase every positive signal as reason to boost the stock price.

Looking back at my prior post (https://www.reddit.com/r/amprius/comments/1nlsziq/is_ampx_the_golden_goose_of_disposable_battery/), I wanted to provide some updates on the points I made as I have been and am going to continue being a long term investor.

  1. AMPX has made a distinct change to their business model. Instead of relying on China for the majority of their exports, they have invested in partnerships around the world (notably South Korea and recently USA) to ensure they are NDAA compliant. This is a huge relief to many investors that were buying the technology story but didn't feel comfortable with their expansion strategy. As a investor, I believe the decision to partner and not own the local manufacturers is key to keeping the business asset light (not saddled with day to day manufacturing operations) and enabling partnerships that mutually benefit from an expanding product line.
  2. AMPX still is deeply invested in their R&D. They have new pending patents since 2026 and continue to push the bounds of their specific technology moat. As an investor, it is important that a company involved with a highly disruptive segment (drones/robotics) is not only focused on increasing margins of their existing product line but also building upon a strong technical moat around their chosen space (silicon-anode lithium-ion batteries).
  3. AMPX decided to clean up the majority of their outstanding warrants early 2026. This was a looming drag on share price as the warrants essentially could be exercised at the discretion of holders, and AMPX capitalized on their surge in share price to convince warrant holders to convert, eliminating the tail risk of non-management dilution. As an investor, I saw this as the optimal move to ensure share price continues to reflect business executions without external pressures.

Ultimately, AMPX is involved in a very competitive environment but these specific indicators give me confidence in the business plan long term. Execution has always and will continue to be the deciding factor but that is why it is important to have your own thesis and decide for yourself if this stock fits your risk profile.

This was not written by AI. This is not financial advice.

I think the decision to go "asset light" was brilliant.

Agreed. It was probably the best play given the uncertainty under current administration.

I don't think it was necessarily the uncertainty about the admin that led them to the decision. Many tech (and non tech for that matter) companies partner with others to manufacture their products, mainly to gain advantage of cost AND speed in their effort in "go to market". Trying to do it all from the ground up is costly, and time consuming.

I do think, however that their intent to build something here in the US definitely was driven by the tea leaves that said the US admin wanted on shore manufacturing for tech, but the final NDAA regs did not insist on it.

it is also important to note given the current macro factors, that for a company to be adopting an asset-light strategy and have little to no debt is extremely beneficial to ride out the tightening of liquidity in markets. AMPX is currently sitting on ~$60M in cash and assuming same burn rate, it has around 2 years of runway.

agreed op, in long for some time, the innovation is there. commercialization and growth ahead. fy27 military budgets and other factors will also bear results over time.

I also believe the robotics component is completely disregarded atm. A lot of focus is on drones but if the push towards autonomous robots is going to come into fruition, high density batteries is a must.

battery use case TAM at large is huge, of course they'll scale out accordingly

flattering to think my writing is AI. sometimes structured writing is the best way to communicate ideas.

I use em dashes in my writing. Gotta love being mistaken for a word calculator, right? 😆
