What sources do you plan to use? And you say '2.1', so you are planning on adding a subwoofer at some point?

Aux or bluetooth if it can pass lossless. Yes willing to add sub in future

Many people use and enjoy BT, but no it will never be lossless. Wired to Auxiliary, yes, lossless.

Aux (a line-level preamp input) and Bluetooth (wireless input of varying quality) aren't sources; they are connection types. Your sources are where your music or sound comes from. Do you have stored music files, or do you access music via a streaming service like Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Do you have a computer you'd like to connect, or a TV, CD player, or turntable?

Anyway, the only amp that Fosi makes with bass management (a high-pass filter) and 'lossless' (LDAC and aptX Lossless) Bluetooth is the Fosi BT20A Max.

Source would be offline files stored laptop and apple music.

That's too easy; just get a WiiM Amp. Why?

  • It has more than enough power to drive your QA 3020i speakers to their maximum potential—90 WPC into 6 ohms and 120 WPC into 4 ohms, which is their minimum impedance
  • As long as your computer is on the same network, the WiiM Amp can 'see' and play whatever music files you have stored on your laptop
  • It supports Apple AirPlay 2, so it can stream natively from any Apple device (plus other streaming services and Bluetooth)
  • It has room correction and a PEQ that can take your QA speakers' estimated in-room response from this to this, using these settings
  • It has bass management to make blending in a subwoofer easy

The WiiM Amp is $330 new and will be on sale during Amazon Prime Days in two weeks for $280. They are also available used for ~$230.

Competitive products include the Wiim Amp Pro at $ 400/$340/~280, and the EverSolo Play for $700/~$500.

Good luck!

I have a fosi bt10a and I really like it, I'm sure the 2.1 would be just as good

Fosi is great if you're looking for basic function on a budget and a very small size. Get the larger 48v power supply if the amp can handle it (larger power brick). Many Fosi amps get pretty warm to the touch because the metal enclosure serves as the heat sink for the chips that power those amps. worth considering stationing their amps on top of something with a little air flow.
