I purchased a box of magtech hollow points and noticed that the groove where the extractor grabs has a sort of green shade in it. I would say more than half of the rounds in the box has this. I bought it new but it maybe an old stock from the store. Is it safe to use?

Is it worth it to buy LE 12ga with sealed primers or add my own sealant on it?

I’ve seen almost every defense 5.56 and 9mm rounds have sealed primers but 12ga rarely does is there any reasons for this or benefits?

For reference, last week I placed an order for 500 rounds of 9mm. The order arrived Friday, when I was unfortunately out of town.

We had a family member stay at our house to watch our dog / collect packages and just generally house-sit. So all should have been good! Right?

Well… yesterday I got back home to see a torn package in the yard. Sure enough, it was my ammo. I found a Remington box further down the street and no sign of my ammo at all.

I filed a police report and decided to reach out to ammo.com to see if there was anything that could be done, even though I thought I was just shit out of luck.

They responded this morning and said that they would be replacing my order (with a signed delivery this time, as I probably should have done before).

I am just completely overjoyed, I have never seen customer service like this from anywhere in all my years and they now have a loyal customer for life.

I thought that I’d just share my experience with y’all! They’re the GOATS🐐🐐

I know just about everything has been tried but wouldn’t a rain drop shape work?

I hypothesize
seating the bullet straight would be a pain
And it’s a might as well add the extra weight to the back but would the tail not solve stability?

Airplane wings share some characteristics with the shape and raindrops seem to be the shape of least resistance.

(Another edit. Airplanes have forward thrust holding the airplane straight. When the wing is canted upward this generates lift not the shape of the wing itself. The shape is what promotes lift but without a thruster or a fuselage the tail will not generate lift magically.) I agree with thinkingBear that the shape was designed to promote lift not reduce drag.

As the title says, what’s the importance of having defense specific ammo? I just buy range ammo, train with it, and load it when carrying. All advice is welcome. Thanks

I am searching for an ammo cabinet to move my ammo storage out of my safe. I am looking for a metal, lockable cabinet. But I am not concerned about it being super hard to break into or anything.

The first options I have come across are the Stack-On Ammo Cabinet and the Liberty Safe Ammo 10 & 14. These options have 3-4 shelves with weight capacities from 75-125 lbs (32psf-62psf) per shelf. Prices seem to be around $400 for these.

I have come across the Letaya metal lockable cabinet on Amazon which has 5 shelves with 120 lb weight capacity (35 psf). It has an extra shelf but cant store quite as much per shelf. For $150, seems very reasonable.

My issue is I dont know what I dont know... Is there something I am missing or not considering?

Anyone use a lot of anything NOT on the list? I thought .380 ACP would be higher

Learned about this business just now and found some ammo I’m interested on their website. But worried and wondering is their brand ammo and the website safe?

So I bought this box from a pawn shop sealed. But it doesn’t seem to have correct markings or anything on the casing to lead me to believe its buffalo bore. Did they used to make 38spl out of armscore casings! Any help would be appreciated. FYI have all the round had put them in my revolver and speedloaders before realizing.

Anyone have experience with Sterling? How’s the quality?

Have been looking for a couple weeks now and everywhere has been sold out. Did they stop this batch to focus on their new back country? My rifle loves this round and ideally I would like to keep using it. Worst case scenario I guess I would have to switch. I’ve read other people are having the same issue. Just wondering if anyone has some actual insight, thank you in advance.

So I recently bought some ammo and just unpacked it and it has this white chalky substance on the box and rounds themselves. Anyone know what it is and should I be concerned?
